1 Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the My Exclusive Books platform ("the Platform") at myexclusivebooks.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our platform.

These Terms apply to all users of the Platform, including individual subscribers, school administrators, parents and guardians.

2 About Our Platform

My Exclusive Books is a curated educational reading platform providing access to educator-approved books, reading reviews and educational content, designed specifically for High Potential Individuals (HPI) and young learners.

The Platform provides:

• Access to a curated catalogue of book reviews and educational content
• Reading progress tracking and wishlist features
• Content in multiple formats including PDF, Read-Aloud, Kindle and audio
• A school dashboard for institutional subscribers
• Self-paced learning tools and book availability information

3 Account Registration

To access the full features of our Platform, you must create an account. When registering, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current and complete information including your name, username and email address
• Keep your account credentials secure and not share your password with others
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• Ensure your account details are kept up to date

You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account independently. Users under 13 must be registered by a parent, guardian or school administrator.

4 Subscriptions & Payments

Subscription Plans

We offer the following subscription plans:

• Individual Basic — access to selected book reviews and content
• Individual Premium — full access to all content and categories
• School Basic — institutional access for up to 2 users
• School Premium — full institutional access with analytics and unlimited users

Billing

• Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually depending on your chosen billing cycle
• All prices are displayed in Mauritian Rupees (MUR) unless otherwise specified
• Payment is due at the start of each billing period
• You will receive a confirmation email upon successful payment

Payment Methods

We accept payment via bank transfer, cash and cheque. Online payment gateway integration is coming soon. For school subscriptions, invoice arrangements can be made — please contact us directly.

5 Cancellation & Refunds

Cancellation

• You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or by contacting us
• Upon cancellation, you will retain access to the Platform until the end of your current billing period
• No further charges will be made after cancellation

Refunds

• Monthly subscriptions — we do not offer refunds for partially used months
• Annual subscriptions — refund requests within 14 days of payment may be considered at our discretion
• Refund requests should be submitted to premika@myexclusivebooks.com with your account details and reason for request

We reserve the right to refuse refund requests where our Terms have been violated.

6 Acceptable Use

By using our Platform, you agree not to:

• Share your account credentials or subscription access with others outside your account
• Download, copy, distribute or reproduce any content from the Platform without our written permission
• Use the Platform for any unlawful, harmful or fraudulent purpose
• Attempt to access areas of the Platform you are not authorised to use
• Use automated tools or bots to scrape or extract content from the Platform
• Impersonate any other user, administrator or representative of My Exclusive Books
• Upload or transmit any harmful, offensive or inappropriate content
• Interfere with the normal operation of the Platform or its servers

Violation of these terms may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund.

7 Intellectual Property

All content on the My Exclusive Books Platform — including but not limited to book reviews, text, images, logos, icons, audio and video materials — is owned by or licensed to My Exclusive Books and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Your subscription grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the content for personal educational purposes only. You may not:

• Copy, reproduce or distribute any content from the Platform
• Use our content for commercial purposes
• Remove any copyright or proprietary notices from content
• Create derivative works based on our content without written permission

Book titles, covers and related materials remain the intellectual property of their respective publishers and authors.

8 School Accounts

School subscriptions are subject to the following additional terms:

• The school administrator is responsible for managing user accounts within the school subscription
• The number of user accounts is limited to the maximum specified in your chosen plan
• School administrators must ensure that all users under their account comply with these Terms
• Student data must be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws
• School accounts may not be transferred to another institution without our written consent
• We reserve the right to audit school accounts to ensure compliance with plan limits

9 Content & Availability

We strive to maintain high availability of our Platform, however we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may occasionally need to perform maintenance, updates or experience technical difficulties.

• We reserve the right to add, remove or modify content available on the Platform at any time
• Content availability may vary depending on your subscription plan
• We will endeavour to notify users of significant content changes in advance
• We are not responsible for any loss resulting from temporary unavailability of the Platform

10 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, My Exclusive Books shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform
• Loss of data, profits or business opportunities
• Errors, interruptions or delays in the Platform's operation
• Any third-party content linked to or from our Platform

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid for your subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11 Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in conduct harmful to the Platform, other users or My Exclusive Books.

Upon termination:

• Your access to the Platform will be immediately revoked
• No refund will be issued for remaining subscription time if termination is due to a breach of these Terms
• We may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes

12 Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Mauritius. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Mauritius.

13 Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a prominent notice on the Platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Platform and cancel your subscription.
